Clouds are so impossibly pink
Gloom is a vanishing thing
Ships on the edge of the world
Beckoning us to the brink
Road to the cliff
Secret path to the sea
Love floats – heavenly
The world stretches out – vista’s opening
The day is incredibly free
Lingering
Languidly
Out of time, out of space, out of joy
Into dawn, into day, into song
Night time descends
Shadows linger and sway
We’re wrapped in a gossamer web
This is where happiness lives
So voluptuously astray
Lingering
Languidly
Out of time, out of space, out of joy
Into dawn, into day, into song
Night time descends
Shadows linger and sway
We’re wrapped in a gossamer web
This is where happiness lives
So voluptuously astray

The Story
(The World Is) Your Oyster
“I love the ocean, it’s my favorite place on earth. Pure happiness. All the days of sand and sea.
Many of my most favorite ones in Montauk with my son Ian, while he was growing up.
We love that sense of no clocks, endless days, just rolling on forever in a blissful state.”

“Nighttime descends, shadows linger and sway,
We’re caught in a gossamer web,
This is where happiness lives, so voluptuously astray.”-Ellen Kaye
I was thinking about every happy time I’ve ever had at the seaside because I love the ocean. It’s my favorite place on earth. And I was remembering, particularly, my times with my son in Montauk and all kinds of wonderful, beautiful, serene days and nights and also quite lively times that we had. That’s what it’s about.
I want people to just chill, to feel super relaxed, feeling that there’s no construct called time and we’re all just rolling on forever in a blissful state. That’s pretty much the goal.
“Nighttime descends, shadows linger and sway,
We’re caught in a gossamer web,
This is where happiness lives, so voluptuously astray.”
I love those lines. They just remind me of light coming through a window and some kind of wonderful impressionist painting. A captured moment.
I love taking photographs of the ocean. The colors, the light on the water, the light on the sand, the way foam laps against the shore. I just love everything about the quality of light and air by the sea. So I’d say that was my biggest inspiration, what I was thinking about the most when I wrote it.
